OOTD: Neon Coral

Yesterday was a fabulous, busy day! I woke up and immediately went to Canton to shop for the interior  business. (I'm photographing my finds tomorrow-post to come soon). Lovin' the scarf look. I don't care that it's hot out!

I don't look tired or anything, right?

Download the app and find me! My handle is: Diet Coke Straight Up (I'm trying to streamline my social media with my new blog name). Click here for an invite!

OOTD: Flowy Floral

Eh, was feeling pretty un-inspired yesterday. (If you couldn't tell by my LOVELY hair!) This outfit looked great in my head but was so friggin' hard to photograph.

New York, New York

Yesterday, R moved out of his NYC apartment and will officially begin living in Dallas in mid-September. I'm thrilled! I'm still in shock that it's happened so quickly. I can't wait for him to be living in Dallas and for us to no longer be long distance. Plus, I've already started decorated his place in my head!

There is part of me that will miss him having his place in NYC. I always felt very "she-she" saying "We live both here and in New York" (Like hell we did. He had a place. But whatever.) He could still work up there from time to time so there will be plenty of chances to visit.

I had to pay o'mage to the things I'll miss most.

We discovered this gem while at a flea market in Brooklyn. This is the best Lobster Roll or sandwich for that matter, I've ever had. Shortly there after I started stalking this truck and making excuses to go to it every chance we got. The last time I was in New York, I HAD to get a lobster roll. R went with me in the pouring rain, to easily the opposite side of Manhattan to get one.

Lobster Roll-Conneticut style baby!

I've posted about my C Wonder love since I first went there last Fall. Again, I made every excuse to go to Prince Street to swing by. R even went there on his last day to pick up a shirt I had to have. Sigh, I'll miss you!

R had told me about Shake Shack when we first started dating. I couldn't wait to try it! The best location is in Madison Square Park and the line is always 75+ people deep. We've waited in that line, believe me, it was worth it! If we ever walked by and the line was short, we would eat there!

The NYC Subway System:

Probably a weird thing to miss public transportation. I always liked riding the subway. I never knew where I was going so when I finally figured out which way Uptown was, I was so excited! I could finally sorta navigate without R in the city. It was always the best people watching.

OOTD: Painted Stripes with Coral/Mint

My apartment is currently full of flea market finds, paints, tools, furniture, ect. So I'll be posting my OOTD pictures from the swanky locker room of my gym. Luckily I'm there when it's less crowded. Others wise, that would be awkward!

Sure this picture is fuzzy, but I LOVE the way my legs look :)

OOTD: Travel Style

I always tend to show outfits of mine that are bright, put together, fully accessorized, ect. I wanted to show an outfit/style that is typical when I travel. I've never been one for dressing up when I fly. I think the whole thing is a long, mainly annoying process and I don't want to waste a cute outfit. I'll dress like a hobo in first class or not! (Who are we kidding, I haven't sat in first class in forever.) For sure early flights, I'm guilty of wearing pajama pants. I know...

Jeans are a staple when I travel now. I see gals in booty shorts with their business hanging out while they're trying to put their overhead bag up. NO MAAM! I also tend to wear something slouchy/not tight. Nothing worse than having to mess with ill-fitting cloths while traveling.

I've had this LV Cabas bag for 10 years. It's the bag I always travel with. It can fit my iPad, September issue of Vogue, US Weekly and the gallon of hand sanitiser I travel with. Plus it zips so I can get that security line moving. I've also lately switched to only wearing closed toed shoes. But only ones that can easily slide on and off. (Remember, gotta keep that line movin')

Florida Finds Photo Shoot

If you're visiting from Kelly's Korner, welcome! This is a business that I'm in the process of finalizing and developing. I'll be bringing coastal antique finds and restoring furniture to Dallas in Spring 2013. Hope you'll follow me on my adventure!

The trip to Florida was a complete success! I went there with the main purpose of buying items and finalizing some details for my new business idea. (i.e. a name) I was so inspired by what the decor stores had to offer. Since my idea is coastal themed, it was perfect! There are many, MANY antique stores in the area but they all seemed to be priced a little high. I spent a lot of time researching the stores an hour outside where our home is. This my friends, was a success.

I decided to take all the smaller items out to the beach for a little photo op. The dunes were a perfect backdrop.

Gold gym basket.

Old machine part from factory. This will be turned into a glass-top coffee table.

Antique water marker, corbel and porthole.

Mermaid sign, aged display cage and antique posts.
Of course no buying trip would be complete without a WOODEN MERMAID!!! (Happy dance!)

Fantastic Items Found at the Following Stores:
Copper 'Possum Antique Mall (Most eclectic place)

OOTD: Hot Pink-Flying Pigs

Yesterday was my last day in FL. Sad! It was actually the only sunny day we had while I was there. My Mom and I enjoyed the beach before we ran our last few errands.

An arcade opened up in a shopping area near my parents condo. I had some (er, 5000....) tickets to redeem before we left for the summer. I think my massive flying pig is just amazing!
Best arcade prize EVER!

Ban.do Mention!

I was looking at my web traffic yesterday and I noticed that I was getting some hits from the fabulous accessory company, ban.do. I recently got their pop flower in magenta and LOVE it!

Said huge flower pin.

I was so excited to learn that I was mentioned on their blog last week! Check it out here:

Be sure to go to their site and look around. Their customer service was AWESOME and they respond to emails super quickly. Thanks ban.do!!!

This hair style is the perfect solution for "my hair looks like a humid mess after antiquing all day." Still a work in progress. I LOVE this dress I got the other day. It's vibrant and just a fun print!

OOTD: Muted Maxi

This is as muted as I get! I got this skirt the other day here in FL and I love it. I got this oversized grey sweater from JCrew that will help transition this into fall.

YES! Finally, a full length mirror. I've missed you.
