I typically throw a very over the top Halloween or Christmas Party every year. This year I wasn't able to so I've decided to go ALL out on a New Years Eve Party. I wanted to do something bigger than just a traditional NYE Party. I needed a little inspiration for a party with a little extra something and what better inspiration than these guys...
TIP: I think a theme is the most important thing to a party. It helps you decide all the other elements.
It was decided! A 1950's, Rat Pack, Las Vegas New Years Eve. BAM!
The colors would be:
My good friend Chelsea over at
Southern Fried Paper made these fabulous innovations! I'm still a huge fan of real paper invites. You know, the kind you mail? Check out these beauties
TIP: I usually follow up with an evite to keep track of the headcount. It also sends out automatic reminders to your guests.
I using
A Casino Event of Dallas to bring Las Vegas to my home! They're bringing craps tables, roulette and black jack. I'm setting the gambling till 11:30pm and those with the most money can buy prizes.
I decided to go even MORE over the top and do a
Smilebooth at the party. What is Smilebooth?
This self-functioning booth takes the guesswork out of producing professional photos of your event. It's an effortless process for documenting events in an atmosphere that encourages a hot mess of fun and spontaneity
I discovered smile booth a few years ago and have been dying to have one at an event ever since!
At the event. Can you pick me out of a crowd? I'm the tall one wearing purple!
I've been working with
the Manic Moose on Etsy to create some HILARIOUS photo booth props. She's been awesome to work with.
Here are some of my go-to party catering books!
For my parties that don't have as much going on, I typically make all the food for the event. Since NYE is going to be such a huge party, I'm opting for the party to be catered via
Central Market.
Now that I've got my color scheme locked. I've been playing around with different decor ideas. I'm all about having a huge centerpiece installation. Here are some things I've been loving!
I love the picture of the balloons hanging down. They did this by putting a marble in the balloon. I'm thinking about covering the ceiling in them in the party colors!
The party is still coming together, I'll be sure to update with more ideas and of course outfit choices.
