Gingerbread Man Stripper

Had my friends over the other night to decorate gingerbread houses and gingerbread men. I decided to take mine to a new level.....

His arm was already broken. So I created a gingerbread man stripper who was attacked by a customer. My imagination gets me into trouble sometimes.....Ha!

Knockoff Tory Burch Revas!!!!

It's no secret, I love Tory Burch. It's in almost all of my OOTD post. I also own a few pair of reva shoes. I love them! Super comfortable, cute and my go-to shoe while running around in NYC.

I was shopping around DSW in Little Rock and did a double take when I saw these.

Helllllllllooooo double take!

They are the brand Audrey Brooke. Check out the other colors here on the DSW site. They fit great, looked good and are only $59. SCORE!

When I got home I decided to do a side-by-side comparison with my Mom's cheetah print revas. The resemblance was crazy!!!

Crazy huh??

So I would RUN to DSW and pick up a few pairs. You can get 4 for the price of one from the Tory Burch site!

Update on Living Room Facelift

Thank you for all the living room love from my previous post! I adore how the updates turned out. It was time for a little facelift.

I ended up selected the white coral from Z Gallerie for under the table.

I was really torn between the white and red. I still might add the small red one. We will see!

I also ended up adding some color to my couch! I'd been eyeing this sumba pillow from Z Gallerie.

Love the color, it goes great with my Jonathan Adler pillow

Satirically Stylish OOTD

"Stare death in the face," said the ad, "See the elusive Yeti in person." She paid the $50,000 and booked her trip to the Himalayas, stocked with enough Diet Coke to last her a month.

Two weeks in and no sign of the dread beast. And the Diet Coke is running out.

What's a girl to do? Open her last case, keep her eyes peeled and work
on her Yeti mating call.

My Favorite Christmas Gifts for 2011

I recently discovered these two gifts and I'm obsessed with both of them!

I found these at St. Michael Women's Exchange here in Dallas.

It's soap that is in a necklace or bracelet form! It's an accessory for your bathroom! They look so pretty and I've never seen them before.

This is mine hanging in my powder room.

They smell amazing. You could hang it in a closet to make your cloths smell fabulous.
I love the packaging as well. They're a GREAT price. The necklaces are $28 and the bracelets are $20. Great hostess gift!! Obsessed.

#2) AHeirloom: State Cutting Boards (on Amazon and Etsy)

I was just clicking away on Etsy and I thought they were the neatest thing.

When ordering on Etsy, if you tell them a specific city, they will place the heart on that location on the state. So cute!!! The wood color varies. The prices are about $45.

Had to end on my home state of Arkansas. And the heart is in Little Rock!

TREAT YO SELF!

Treat yo self.........2011!!!!

I'm pretty new to the Parks and Rec show. But I saw this episode a while back. Hilarious.

NYE Fashion. Need your input!

Check out my post on NYE Entertaining here.

Keeping with the NYE theme I wanted to post about some fashion options I was thinking about. It's no surprise that I love sequins and sparkle to wear in everyday looks. Luckily, New Years Eve is just another another excuse!

I have these two dresses in my closet and I have yet to wear them. I'm thinking about these for New Years Eve options.

Parker Rose Sequin Dress (it looks 100% better in person & has an open back)

I'm torn between the two dresses!! I'm not sure which one to wear. Help!

I'm heading to a Kendra Scott Junior League event this week and I think I've found where I'm going to get my statement jewelry to go with my outfit. Plus we get a discount! Here are some of the options I'm thinking.

I'm probably suppose to do subtle jewelry with a flashy dress, but who are we kidding?

NYE Entertaining

"Oh what fun it is...to Entertain!" hosted by Nina, Erin, Molly, AP and Mere.

I typically throw a very over the top Halloween or Christmas Party every year. This year I wasn't able to so I've decided to go ALL out on a New Years Eve Party. I wanted to do something bigger than just a traditional NYE Party. I needed a little inspiration for a party with a little extra something and what better inspiration than these guys...
TIP: I think a theme is the most important thing to a party. It helps you decide all the other elements.

It was decided! A 1950's, Rat Pack, Las Vegas New Years Eve. BAM!

The colors would be:

My good friend Chelsea over at Southern Fried Paper made these fabulous innovations! I'm still a huge fan of real paper invites. You know, the kind you mail? Check out these beauties

TIP: I usually follow up with an evite to keep track of the headcount. It also sends out automatic reminders to your guests.

I using A Casino Event of Dallas to bring Las Vegas to my home! They're bringing craps tables, roulette and black jack. I'm setting the gambling till 11:30pm and those with the most money can buy prizes.

I decided to go even MORE over the top and do a Smilebooth at the party. What is Smilebooth? This self-functioning booth takes the guesswork out of producing professional photos of your event. It's an effortless process for documenting events in an atmosphere that encourages a hot mess of fun and spontaneity

I discovered smile booth a few years ago and have been dying to have one at an event ever since!

At the event. Can you pick me out of a crowd? I'm the tall one wearing purple!

I've been working with the Manic Moose on Etsy to create some HILARIOUS photo booth props. She's been awesome to work with.

Here are some of my go-to party catering books!

For my parties that don't have as much going on, I typically make all the food for the event. Since NYE is going to be such a huge party, I'm opting for the party to be catered via Central Market.

Now that I've got my color scheme locked. I've been playing around with different decor ideas. I'm all about having a huge centerpiece installation. Here are some things I've been loving!

I love the picture of the balloons hanging down. They did this by putting a marble in the balloon. I'm thinking about covering the ceiling in them in the party colors!

The party is still coming together, I'll be sure to update with more ideas and of course outfit choices.

Satirically Stylish OOTD

When she goes out in the woods today, she's sure of a big surprise ...

An enormous disturbing surprise ...
Apparently today's the day the Giant Concrete Teddy Bears have their picnic.

What's a girl to do?

Slowly open a Diet Coke, careful to make no sudden movements, smile her widest smile, and join the party. After all, they're just as scared of her as she is of them, right? Right?
